The final results of 49th special BCS examination for recruitment to the general education cadre have been published. 668 people have been provisionally nominated.
This information was given in a press release by the Public Service Commission (PSC) on Tuesday night.
Candidates are being selected to fill 683 vacant posts in the General Education Cadre in this BCS. PSC sources said that a total of more than 3 lakh 12 thousand candidates applied for this BCS and 1 thousand 219 passed the MCQ type written test.
The notification for this BCS, organized specifically for the education cadre, was published on July 21 and the written exam was held on October 10. PSC officials now published the final result last night 11 October 2025.
The PSC hopes that the recruitment process will be completed quickly as the results are published, so that candidates can take up their duties on time. Since taking office, the current commission has created an annual roadmap, setting a goal of publishing new BCS notifications in November of each year and publishing the final results by October 30 of the following year.
PSC is currently conducting three general BCS examinations simultaneously. Of these, the 45th BCS oral examination is underway, where 6,558 candidates have passed the written examination. According to the commission’s plan, the final results of this BCS will be published last night and 668 people are selected in that examination.
