New good news for Dhaka Metrorail passengers. DMTCL (Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited) has announced that Metrorail will run for an extra hour from next Sunday (October 20). According to the new schedule, the Metrorail will depart half an hour earlier and later in the morning and evening.
According to DMTCL, in addition to increasing the running time, the number of trips will be increased from the middle of next month, so that the waiting time between two trains can be reduced by at least two minutes.
DMTCL Managing Director Faruk Ahmed said, “A plan has been made to increase the service in phases. A few days of trial operation will be conducted to increase the number of new trips. We hope that the increase in trips will be effective from the middle of next month.”

The metro rail, which was launched on December 28, 2022, initially ran from Uttara to Agargaon. The number of stations has been increased step by step, and passenger movement up to Motijheel began on the last day of 2023. Currently, work is underway to extend it up to Kamalapur.
