GPA is an educational system where it is used to verify high schools and colleges student performance and academic achievement. GPA is calculated by observing a student’s performance on an examination and creating a grade on the basis of a student’s performance in the exam.
The scoring system used to represent a student’s overall academic performance or standing and evaluation is called CGPA, the full form of which is Cumulative Grade Points Average. It is basically used in universities and higher studies to evaluate a student’s educational qualifications, according to global standards. In most cases, CGPA is usually calculated out of 4, and GPA is usually calculated out of 5 in our country.
Method to find out GPA and CGPA:
In an exam students got a percentages or grade basis by their performance. Then those grades are added together and divided by the number of units or credits in each class to calculate the GPA
GPA = (total mark (credit hour per course × Grade point received per course))/(Total credit hour of a semester or class )
In the CGPA a student gets a grade of every semester and after finishing the exam in their total academic education their CGPA is calculated by adding all grades together and dividing the number of credit hours in the all semester.
CGPA =(total GPA in every semester (credit × grade point))/(all semester total credit hour)
A good GPA/CGPA usually indicates consistent good academic performance, which is helpful for higher education or a good job.
